Valea Landry (Ozebe & Annie Landry) | Guillaume, Madeleine | Grande Anse
Reader Louise Dumais Colby of Atlanta (Georgia, U.S.A.) is the grand-daughter of Valea Landry (m.Dumais) of Somersworth. Valea’s parents were Ozebe and Annie Landry.
She left the following message. If anyone out there knows anything about these people she mentions please leave a message in the comment box below and I’ll put you in contact with her -
We used to go to Grande Anse NB in the late 1950s and visit Uncle Guillaume and Aunt Madeleine (who I thought was part Indian). Could this be the same family?
Thank you!

Possible Connection
There is a delayed Registration of Birth for a Guillaume Landry and Madeline Theriault of Grand Anse for a daughter – Mary Marguerite Bernadette Landry (April 15, 1908). The original document can be found here -
This is probably the family in the 1911 CDN census (New Brunswick, Gloucester, New Bandon). The couple Guillaume and Madeleine have his parents DOCITHE and Marie LANDRY living with them.
And this appears to be the same people in the 1901 CDN census (New Brunswick, Gloucester, New Bandon), though in this case the parents are the heads of household and their son is a dependant.

Going back another 20 years (CDN Census 1881), we find a Dosithe and Marie Landry living in New Bandon (Grand Anse) with their 6 children including an OSCIBE LANDRY – perhaps Ozebe? Read more »
