Evelyn in Montreal: Ascendancy of Louis Vincent (m. Chevrefils, Marie Eulalie) | Pt.2
1881
As a follow-up to the previously published ascendancy of Louis Vincent (m. Chevrefils, Marie Eulalie), this would appear to be the household of your great-great grandparents Seraphin Vincent and Henriette Lacoste in Ste-Urbain. (Chateauguay) in 1881. I would suggest that the married couple that is living with them is probably their son Louis Vincent and daughter-in-law Marie Eulalie Chevrefils.

Evelyn in Montreal: Ascendancy of Louis Vincent (m. Chevrefils, Marie Eulalie) | Pt.1
This is for reader Nicole Getty who is attempting to firm up her lineage through the Quebec Vincents.
Your great grandparents Louis Vincent (farmer) and
Marie Eulalie Chevrefils were married on October 19th, 1875 in Ste-Martine Parish (Chateauguay county) – though bans were posted in both Ste-Martine and St-Urbain. His parents were Seraphin Vincent and Henriette Lacoste while Marie Eulalie was the daughter of Georges Chevrefils (also a farmer) and Angelique Allard.
Your great-great grandparents Seraphin Vincent (son of Seraphin Vincent and Desanges Riendeau) and Henriette Lacoste (daughter of Francois Lacoste and Marguerite Riendeau) were married in St-Antoine-de-Padoue Parish (Longueuil) on October 6th, 1840.
Your great-great-great grandparents were Seraphin Vincent and Desanges Riendeau (Reguindeau). Seraphin was the son of Francois Vincent and Marguerite Benoit. Desanges was the daughter of Jean-Baptiste Riendeau and Marie Paquet. Seraphin and Desanges were married on February 17th, 1817 in St-Antoine-de-Padoue Parish (Longueuil).
Francois Vincent and Marguerite Benoit were married on July 17th, 1786 in St-Antoine-de-Padoue Parish (Longueuil). Francois’ first wife was Marie Varry. (daughter of Charles Varry and Magdeleine Thuot) and that marriage had taken place on February 4th, 1771. Francois’ parents were Francois Vincent and Marguerite Tessier while Marguerite’s parents were Toussaint Benoit and Marie Louise Rouille.
Francois Vincent and Marguerite Tessier were the founding couple of this Quebec lineage. Francois was from Lyons (France) and was the son of Francois Vincent and Catherine Clement. Marguerite, on the other hand, was born in Montreal and her parents were Jean Baptiste Tessier and Elisabeth Renaud. The Tessiers had been in Quebec since the 17th century. Francois and Marguerite were married in St-Antoine-de-Padoue Parish on September 15th, 1738.
