Anybody have any info on the Kahnawake Bertrands? My great-grandfather was Octave Bertrand, married to Adele Leger. (both of Massachusetts, USA). My grandmother, Clara Bertrand Dumas (Adele’s daughter) said that we had Canadian Indian ancestry, but she died when I was young and no one now knows the tribe. My Quebec antecedents were from the Trois Rivieres area. Thank you for any help. Virginia Dumas

,i hope that could be help full for yu , there are also many metis in regions, and in ohio too and near the great lake, yu can look for that , using yur family name and metis on google, as that,( Bertrand metis) and much information can come out.good search:)
