  1. What an exquisite tombstone–it is so amazing it has lasted so long and in such wonderful shape. I have always been fascinated by graveyards. I always wonder about the lives of the people buried there…

  2. Actually, Beth, the tombstone has survived remarkably well but the inscription has been “blacked over” with some substance and that is why it is so clear.
