Sherbrooke St. in Winter | A Canadian Family Vintage Postcard Collection
A wintry, turn-of-the-twentieth-century view of horse-drawn carriages on Montreal’s magnificent Sherbrooke St.

There’s been a lot of snow recently not only where I live near Montreal, but also in my husband’s home town of Milan, Italy, but the reason I decided to publish this postcard today was in response to my friend Lucie LeBlanc Consentino’s latest post
What was my wish at Christmas?
How can anyone not love snow???

I love snow. Growing up in Massachusetts, I simply am accustomed to having a snowy winter. When we moved to Delaware in 1999, I was quite disappointed by the lack of significant snowstorms. To them, an inch of snow was reason for panic.
Now that I have moved away from Delaware, they got quite the blizzard this weekend, along with the rest of the East Coast! It simply isn’t fair!
I will only be here in Korea for this one winter (and then hopefully it will be on to Italy, where I have family, or Germany), and while there have been two dustings, I have yet to be impressed.
I love snow!
I would love to have some snow instead of all of this rain, but. So beautiful. I loved the posts on tobogganing too.
We got out snow!! I just love snow especially for Christmas!
Thanks Evelyn! Love those old postcards with horse drawn carriages.
