Genealogy Notes: I believe I have identified this couple as the Nicolas Theriault who married a Marie DeGruchy in 1896 at St-Jacques-le-Majeur Cathedral in Montreal. His parents were Joseph Avila (or Ovila) Theriault and Appolline Cormier of GRAND ANSE while the Marie De Gruchy was the daughter of Philippe de Gruchy and Emilie Theriault, also of Grande Anse. the fathers of both spouses were deceased at the time of the marriage.
