Descendants of Philippe Theriault and his wives Tharsile Plourde and Mathilde Theriault
Every Saturday evening Randy Seaver hosts a fun little activity over at his blog Genea-Musings so I decided to jump in this week with his challenge to choose one set of great-grandparents and list their descendants. I chose my paternal great-grandparents. It was an interesting exercise because it reminded me that I need to go back and check a lot of the collateral lines of our far flung Theriaults!
I descend from Philippe Theriault and his first wife Tharsile (Marguerite) Plourde who were married in 1877 in Tignish (Prince County) Prince Edward Island (Canada). They had 11 children: my grandfather Rosaire, Alexandre (m. Philomene Godin), Auguste Amedee, Octave, Michel Pierre (m. Rose Delima Morneau), Thomas, Pierre (m. Regina Perrault), Marianne (m. Henri Landry), Jacques Joseph (m. Marguerite Theriault), Auguste and Arthur.
My grandfather Rosaire Theriault married Yvonne Leger in 1932 in St-Honore (Temiscouata) Quebec and they had four children, 10 grandchildren and now almost a dozen great grandchildren. Auguste Amedee Theriault married Genevieve Theriault in 1903 in Val Brillant (Quebec) and they had two children Paul and Jenne. Octave Theriault married Anne Gauthier in 1913 in Val Brillant (Quebec) and they had 6 children. Thomas Theriault married Amedee Gendron in 1910 in Val Brillant (Quebec) and they had four children.
My great grandfather Philippe Theriault and his second wife Mathilde Theriault had 10 children: Regina (m. Leo Paul Viau) , Leonie (m. Arthur Labrie), Philippe (m. Juliette Lemay), Malvina (m. Henri Valmore) , Leonard (m. Rita Leduc) , Lionel (m. Germaine Colette), Ernest (Yolande Lambert), Francois (m. Diane Leblanc) , Leontine and Albertine.
P.S. For anyone who’s been away on a retreat or hiding under a rock the last few weeks (smile), Genea-musings has been nominated for a Family Tree Award in the All Around Best Category. Congratulations, Randy!
