Vintage Postcard: Lachine Canal, Quebec

View of Lachine Locks, Lachine, P.Q. (Quebec)

This is one of the canals which was rendered obsolete by the opening of the St-Lawrence Seaway.

It was finally closed in the 1970s – but has recently re-opened for pleasure craft.

Great postcard.. I did not know about that canal – it is an interesting piece of history and to think you have a postcard that shows it..
