Vickie Everhart at of the Texas blog
Be not forgot was generous enough to grant One Lovely Blog Award to A Canadian Family. I’m really happy about that because it gives me a chance to let you know more about her site – although readers of the Festival of Postcards will already have seen some of her work.
Vickie hails from Texas. You can get a sense of her poetic nature in this quote from her site “My ancestors hail from … the redlands of Texas .. and the marshes of Maine … the plantations of Georgia .. and the courts of Spain … from a hodgepodge of places … betwixt and between …” nYou can also catch many examples of her fine photographer’s eye (e.g. Tombstone Tuesday :: Carved in stone?) Be Not Forgot was one of the first sites I bookmarked when I started blogging last year.
I’ve received several awards recently and since the Puckerbrushs are dedicated to excellence in writing, I thought I would dedicate my Lovely Blog Awards to those bloggers demonstrating visual creativity through the use of scrapbooking, altered art or mail art, in ways that can enhance family history. For an example of what I mean, you have only to look at Vickie’s entry in the Main Street Festival of Postcards.
When I get back from vacation I’ll start passing this award around.
I’ll see you all then!
