HI, I WAS TOLD THAT MY GREAT GRAND MOTHER ELISE MADORE WHO WAS MARRIED TO LUC LIZOTTE ON NOV.3,1865 IN RIVIERE OUELLE.WAS NATIVE AMERICAN ie IROQUOIS,..I TRIED GOING BACK EVEN FURTHER TO TO ELISE’S MOTHER AND FATHER WHO WERE BRUNO MADORE AND FLAVIE(FLORA) LEVESQUE BORN ON FEB.15,1830 MARRIED BRUNO IN RIVERE OUELLE ON MARCH 3,1851.STILL I COULD NOT FIND THE NATIVE AMERICAN…SO I WENT BACK TO FLAVIE’.S MOTHER AND FATHER..HER MOTHER WAS LUCIE LEVESQUE AND FLAVIE;S FATHER WAS PIERRE LEVESQUE, PIERRE AND LUCIE MARRIED IN RIVIERE OUELLE ON NOV.21,1826…ARE THE LEVESQUE’S THE NATIVE AMERICAN?? SO I WENT BACK TO BRUNO MADORE’S MOTHER AND FATHER HOPING I WOULD FIND A NATIVE AMERICAN..BRUNO MADORE-LAPLANTE’S FATHER WAS HUBERT LABOURIEAE-LAPLANTE AND HIS WIFE WAS ROSALIE DUBE, HUBERT AND ROSALIE MARRIED SEPT.10,1827 .IN RIVIERE OUELLE,,, COULD THIS BE WHERE THE NATIVE AMERICAN IS?? SO I WENT BACK EVEN MORE AND TO LUCIE LEVESQUE’S MOTHER AND FATHER….LUCIE MOTHER WAS MARIE LOUIS PLOURDE AND LUCIE’S FATHER WAS CHARLES LEVESQUE THEY WERE MARRIED IN RIVIERE OUELLE IN APRIL 21.1788….THEN CHARLES LEVESQUE’S FATHER IS JEAN BAPTISTE LEVESQUE WHO MARRIED MARY-MADELINE DUBE. AND THEY MARRIED IN RIVIERE OUELLE ON MARCH 5 1762…..NOW I AM AGAINST THE WALL..I NEED TO KNOW WHAT INDIAN TRIBE AND CLAN IF POSSIBLE AND ALSO NAME.WHEN I LOOK AT THE FAMILY PICTURES OF MY GREAT GRANDMOTHERS FAMILY AND I SEE MY GRANDFATHER CAMILLE WITH HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS I CAN SEE THAT HIS MOM ELISE AND BROTHERS LOOK NATIVE AMERICAN,..BUT NO WHERE CAN I FIND ANY RECORDS.IF ANY ONE CAN HELP ME

In case you haven’t seen this, I thought you might find it interesting. The April 9th, 2011 issue of The Economist contains a reference to the Theriault family. It’s on page 4 of their special report on pensions. A very small blurb, but very interesting: “The most siblings to reach pension age, 7 sons and 12 daughters born to Eugene and Alica Theriault in Canada between 1920 and 1941. They were all claiming a government pension in 2007, with their ages ranging from 66 to 87.”

Thank you for the informative site. My mother I have worked on the Therriault family for years. We share the same lineage from Jehan Therriault to Joseph T andAngelique Landry. My family then decends from their son Joseph Teriau and Madelien Thibodeau down through decendants Benoni Theriau, Remi Therriault SR, and Remi Therriault Jr who came to Montana with three sisters and his wife Mary Caecorie Lizotte. Many of our family records come from ST. Basile, Riviere-Ouelle and Quebec City including the lineages of Peltier, Lizotte, Cyr, GauthierMarquis etc. Remi and Caesorie were in Maine on the 1880 census and them recorded the death of a 10 month old child in FRenchtown Mt. in Nov/1881. I will research your site more thoroughly. Please let me know of any inquiries you may have.

This is a great website!!
My gggrandfather moved to Grande-Anse in the early 1800′s. He was Hilarion Albert. I have been comparing some of the Theriault info with my files. Also all the other Acadian families from the area.
I have been playing with the 1861 and 1871 census of Grande-Anse and getting the maiden names of the wives on it. Also trying to figure out how the Acadian names were spelled. Some were put down very badly.
Some of my family went to Lot 1,3,4 PEI and Campbellton NB area.
I have been putting info in my files for about 21 years, it’s almost 47,000 now.
If anyone would like to exchange info, that would be great!
