  1. Dear friend, my GG grandparents are Luc Boudreau and Aurelia Landry. Luc’s parents were Pierre Boudreau and Dorothy Tremblay. Is there possibly a connection here? Wouldn’t that be terrific!

    • Evelyn,
Pierre and Dorothy apparently married on 9-18-1815 at St. Marquerite, L’Acadie, St. Jean, QP. We have always been told that my GG grandmother Belle Boudreau (Luc and Aurelia’s daughter)was French Canadian, hmmmmm. It seems like they may have been Acadian. You never know, we may find a connection yet!

      • 1. In case some readers are unaware the term “French-Canadian” is often used loosely to refer to French SPEAKING Canadians, however in other contexts French-Canadian refers to the French who settled in Quebec (Nouvelle France) while Acadian refers to the French who settled in Acadie (Nova Scotia/New Brunswick).
        2. I guessed that your Boudreaus are Acadians because it’s an Acadian surname but also because your Boudreaus settled in Ste-Marguerite-de-Blairfindie which was an important Acadian settlement. On a first sweep through online family trees etc. , your line seems to be connected to Anselme Boudreau (Boudrot etc.) and Marguerite Gaudet of Beaubassin, Acadie.
        Your Acadian cousin, Evelyn

  2. That would be amazing!
I see that Luc and Aurelie were married in St-Valentin. I don’t have them in my database. Do you have their ascendancy done?
I’m guessing Boudreau is Acadian? What about your Landrys – were they Acadian or French-Canadian Landrys?

    • I will look at my family tree program when I get home (at work now) and will get back to you with more details. Wow, maybe we’re cousins! Yippee!
