Famous Relatives: Nicole Theriault

Did you know that we have a movie star/singer in the family?

Back in the 1920s and 30s, Rosaire Theriault and Yvonne Leger had three sons (one of whom is my father) and one daughter. One of their sons died – but that is a story for another day.

My father and his sister both have descendants in the Montreal area, but my uncle emmigrated to the United States shortly after WWII and eventually settled down in sunny California where he and his wife raised several children. One of this uncle’s sons eventually put down roots in Thailand and he and his wife produced a great-grandaughter for Rosaire and Yvonne by the name of Nicole (aka Nichole) Theriault.

Nicole grew up to be a very successful Thailandese pop singer, then acted in a movie and made several commercials. She’s not very well-known in the West, but I understand that she’s planning a North American tour so I hope that will soon change!
